Highway™ 1.1 Documentation (News Feed)

The News Feed screen lets you view your Live Feed without having to go to the Facebook web site. You can also comment on items in your feed, and indicate that you "Like" them as well. The News Feed screen is accessed from the Main browser window by clicking the down arrow on the Facebook button (located in the Main window's Bottom Toolbar), and then clicking News Feed from the sub-menu.

On the far right of the News Feed window's toolbar are two combo boxes. The one on the left lets you specify the maximum age (in days) of the messages that are displayed. The one on the right lets you specify the maximum number of messages to be displayed.

To comment on a News Feed item, click the Add Comment link appearing underneath the item. To indicate that you "Like" a News Feed item, click the Like link appearing underneath the item. Note that comments and "Like"s are not actually sent to Facebook until you click the Publish button on the News Feed window's toolbar. You can add comments and Likes to multiple items and click the Publish button to send them to Facebook all at once, or you can Publish them one at a time by clicking the Publish button after you type each comment.

You can also access the News Feed screen by clicking the Notification icon if it appears on the Main browser window toolbar. (The Notification icon will appear if you have new or updated items in your feed, and you've chosen the Notify On New Newsfeed Items option in the Options window.) The News Feed window displays new and updated items with a brighter background color so as to make them distinguishable from items you've already seen.
