Highway's main screen is pretty self-explanatory (see Figure 1 below). Like all web browsers, it contains an address
bar, Back and Forward buttons, and several other buttons on the Top Toolbar, including Go,
Refresh, Stop, Home, and Help.
Beneath the Top Toolbar is a Menu Bar containing items such as
File, Edit, Tools, and Help, each of which contain appropriate sub-menus.
Beneath the menu bar is the Bottom Toolbar. The Bottom Toolbar contains the following buttons:
Favorites, Web Search, Facebook (much more on that later), Copy, Print, and Options. In addition,
at the far right end of the Bottom Toolbar there are two more buttons which will
appear on occasion depending on the web page you are looking at and the options
you have set from the Options window. The first is a secure lock icon
which appears automatically when visiting a secure web site.
If you do not see this icon, then the web page you are currently looking at is not secure. In other
words, don't enter any private information into such a page. The second is a
Notification button that will appear if you have any unread items in your
Facebook Live Newsfeed, but only if you have chosen that option in the
Options window.
Each toolbar button contains an image and/or some text that explain its functionality.
Mousing over a button will also cause a tooltip to be displayed if further explanation is needed.
A screenshot of the main screen appears below. An explanation of the functionality of
some of the less obvious buttons and menu items follows.
