With Highway™, you never have to go to the Facebook web site to post links to your wall or to
friends' walls, to see your Live News Feed, or to post messages to your wall (also
known as changing your status). If you find a web site that you want to share or
you want to check for new items in your feed, just click the Facebook button
found on Highway's toolbar, select the action you want to take, add a comment if you want to, and that's it! You can view all of your friends' photos
and even visit their profiles right from within Highway™. And
starting with Version 1.1, you can now receive notification of new feed items
even when you're not on the Facebook web site!
Highway's™ options screen allows you as much or as little control as you want over how it interacts
with Facebook on your behalf. For example, the default settings enforce a manual
Facebook login the first
time during each session that Highway™ accesses data from Facebook for you. You might choose to
leave the default setting if more than one person has access to your PC. On the other hand,
if there are no privacy concerns, you can choose to allow Highway™ to store your
Facebook
session information and log you in to Facebook automatically when it needs to.
Another option lets you control whether the Friends list you view
within Highway™ includes photos. (If you have a lot of friends, the
list might load faster if you choose not to view their photos, but only their names.)
Aside from the Facebook features, you can use Highway™ just like any other web browser.
Highway™ is lighter and faster than most other browsers available, and contains many of the
same features. We encourage you to make it your default browser!
